Funny usage of the English language
Some things I overheard people saying during this festive season.
Why do people say this?
I hear people saying things like "Can I talk to you for in private for a second?"
The funny thing is, they don't talk for a second!
The conversation will last for at least fifteen minutes to an hour.
If they are going to talk that long, why say seconds or minutes in the first place?
Why can't people just say "Can I talk to you in private for awhile?" or better yet, "Can I talk to you in private?"
Its worst when the person you are talking to has a friend with him/her.
Think about this.
The person you are talking to has a friend with him/her.
That friend can't join in the conversation, and he/she still has to wait for you two to finish talking so that they can go about their routine if any.
Impolite? Or plain rude?

Erm... You're unhappy about the so called wrong usage of "a second" or the fact that some people took an hour or so instead of "a second"? Come on lah! Let's go grab a bite. You don't exactly eat a bite now, do you?
Unhappy about both!
Or what about "I'm gonna crash". Don't tell me those words are exclusively used by the terrorists? haha!
How about "toasted".
OWN3D!
.LuKe.
Anyway, Happy CNY.
